Our family compiled this list of lessons believing that Colin made our world better. He continues to inspire us to be better versions of ourselves. Whether or not you knew Colin, we invite you to choose one or several of these lessons to inspire you to do something positive for yourself or for others. We would be honored if you help us share Colin’s lessons far and wide.
The colorful background at the top of this page is a piece of artwork by Colin. Working alongside his twin on an ordinary morning at home, Colin delighted in the pffft sound of the squirting paint, and he sang “Raaaain-bow, raaaain-bow!” as he swept his brush across the paper, blending the colors. Colin also put his hands directly into the paint - tentatively at first, then with squeals of glee - and allowed Mom to help him make handprints. That kind of sensory experience was once very challenging and uncomfortable for Colin, becoming enjoyable after many times patiently and persistently experimenting with painting tools. This artwork is a physical manifestation of the joy, determination, and creativity with which Colin lived every day - a fitting canvas for sharing these lessons we’ve learned from him.
